I work here at the factory, haven't heard the official reason. I do know that the "Cat Killer" probably will not be ready by then (BIG HP motors). That's all I know right now.

"The Washington NC Kilo has been postponed and moved to Marathon, FL on the Gulf side. It will take place on the 19th of October, 2006, with weather dates of the 20th and 21st.
The weather will be cooler and help the racers to break some records. This will also be a SBIP/APBA Offshore – UIM World Record that you can take with you to the Key West World Championship. Any boats participating in the Kilo that want to leave their boats in the Keys for the Key West World Championship Races space will be available."
