Maybe he had a buyer for a boat like yours, not your particular boat. That happens in real estate all the time and a good broker will match a buyer to boats he sees are available.

They had a buyer who wanted to get back at a neighbor and was looking for an obnoxiously loud boat to start at 6 AM every morning.

i had one of those.. the guy owned a stock car.. would light it up at 8am every friday, sat and sunday
