BTW. When the Kilo run was first posted in one of the cat killer threads, i stated that its probably for race boats only, then some fountain cheerleards jumped in. Nice to see the truth come out. Reggie is a tool, and i crossed a fountain off my list of possibilitys. (currently looking at 38' CC's)
Certainly there are exceptions to every rule. Like Mr. Scott. However, more often than not the power of the ego takes over and the price of admission is worth it. Again, this is a generalization. But if the owner has a REAL legit shot at it, more likely than not he/she will pony up to be the top dog.

Check out the Concept CC's. They are SWEET!

Well... considering both boats are made by the same person (just different stickers/graphics), either way, Skater should be happy!

Skater did NOT do any of Rio Roses. That was done long ago.

Cool Re: $10,000 to run a BIG cat in the Fountain kilos...

you do not have to have a race boat to run the SBI kilo's at Reggie's place. if someone wants to run call John at SBI. 305-296-6166...They will have a helicopter with divers, a Doctor on the course and emergency personal on the banks as well as on the water and helicopters videoing you. If some one want to run John will try his best to get you on the course. I talked to him about this for 30 min. this morning. It would be nice to see all the big boats run, he even said the gas turbines could come.....you don't have to have a canopy boat......just safty equipment, become a member of SBI, and pay to run the Kilo......

I am not certain about Rio specifically, but keep in mind that for several years in the mid-nineties SKATER laid up all of FOUNTAIN'S race boats.

You guys know why everyone compares themselves or others Skater? Do you know why other manufacturers have SKATER lay up there race boats? Do you know why all other manufacturer's or owners of HP boats manufactured by other companies are gunning for SKATER?

Because Peter doesn't say BOO about himself or his boats. He let's their successes speak for themselves. There is only ONE Peter Hledin and only ONE SKATER. Period. End of story. However, I do believe that there are a few other builders out there nipping right at the transom of SKATER. Namely Doug Wright and Randy Scism. This is by no means a dig at any other manufacturer, it is just simply that SKATER is just THAT GOOD!

This sounds like a real step towards settling the BS. The main problem is still found in the qualifying of the speeds. If ANYONE runs a PLEASURE boat and doesn't race it, what are th odds that it will be negated(the speed) and we will again hear how Fountains are the "Fastest in the World" .......??

Geez, I have to agree with you twice in 1 day.

I know that the other Fountains were done by Skater. But the current RR is a Fountain hull.
