I'll be in Atlanta in a week or two. Thinkin' about renting a houseboat or pontoon, got most of the Cumberland Hooters' staff bugging me to take them to Lanier....... ..................

FF2,

I've only had her approx 2mos but I am enjoying her. Test drove a DCB F-29, F-26 & the 32 Spectre. The DCB's are like the mercedes benz of cats bling, bells & whisle wise. The Spectre is more of a functional not fancy ride. I'm not into the all show no go boats. Drives like a sports car.

Nascat... how did the DCB handle in comparison to the Spectre? Did you drive the F-32?

No F-32 the first one hadn't been built yet. The F-29 is a sweet ride like I said it cruises like a Cadillac / Mercedes. Very smooth & linear. It had T-525's which didn't really add much excitement to the ride in completely flat, sticky water. I don't know how it handles the sloppy stuff we get here b/c it was like glass that day but in those conditions it did everything you'd want it to & or any PB Mag write said it would do.

I tested the F-26 the same day, same conditions. Basically a Jr version of the F-29. It too was powered by a 525. It drove more like a sports car since it was smaller, nimbler & the less freeboard made the ride a little more exciting. Once again it could have stood some bigger power.

My boat w/ Ilmors has much more throttle response & roll on power, as a DCB equally equiped might have. Currently there are one each of an Ilmor powered F-29 & one F-32 here on Lake Norman but I've not driven or riden in either. I mentioned the DCB is like the Caddy or Benz well the Spectre is more like a Ferrari. Less frill / bling & more raw performance boat. The Spectre is offshore capable where the DCB isn't. To be honest I like them both for different reasons! I'm into bang for the buck & performance where some prefer all show no go!

Thanks for the information. The 32' Spectre is a great looking boat. Glad to hear that it performs as good as it looks. Enjoy!
