OSS/OPA St Clair Race Info

One of the biggest offshore events of the year is happening on July 30, 2006. The St Clair MI race will feature close to 80 boats. This is a joint race between OSS and OPA so a lot of your favorite boats will be there

In addition to the racing, the city of St Clair has a full weekend of events planned. There will be concerts featuring Sponge, and Mitch Ryder, an aerial acrobatic show, BMX bike stunts, magic shows, and more.

The best place to view the race will be from the Palmer Park which is a grassy area that runs along the rivers edge from the St Clair Inn (at the turn) to the Pine River (finish line). You can also watch from the St Clair Inn and the Voyageur, but it will not be free like the Park. If you are coming by boat and plan to spend the night the municipal marina is booked. Rivers Bend Marina has some transient wells but it is about a 45-min. walk to the race site.

The PatriYacht has a spot in the municiple marina so hope to see you there.

North end of the course and South end of the course has been the spectator fleet in the past. No boats in the middle if my memory serves me. Overall it is one of the best races to view.

While you are in St. Clair, stop by the Canopy for "Special Dreams Farm" on vendors row. We are a non-profit charity for developmently disabled adults, like autism, and Downs Syndrome. We have lots of good food and this is one of our two major fund raisers for the year. Stop by and ask for Whiteknuckle. We need your support this year!
