I got my man Fred at Trick on the case, but was wondering if anyone made an offshore mount for the 496?
I'm also told that Mercury does not recommend switching away from the foot mounts because of potental block casting problems...???
Curious to see how other 496s are mounted...pics would be cool too...
What about the mounts that Baja is running on there 26 Outlaw w/ the 496?
dunno...Originally Posted by Aqua-Holic

dunno about the casting issue either
is anyone out there using offshore mounts?
Here is what the 2007 26 Outlaw uses for mounts.what do they look like? do they use the feet? or are they like the GIL mounts?
Sean...my old Nordic was on the Merc L mounts.
Those look like pretty strong mounts. I'm using the standard merc mounts, bolted to a piece of angle iron. The angle iron is through botled to the stringers.Originally Posted by haulinvols

I would assume that Baja makes these in house. You might want to contact them directly, I am sure they would tell you. That's what I'm looking for! Any idea who makes the mount?
