Re: Getting in the 100's for under $65k?
I figured if he was willing to spend $65K then another $5K wouldnt be an issue. $70K FIRM and its yours.

ken warbly went 317 mph for around 10k granted that was a few years back, im sure it can be done, the eggbeater cats will do it, and you can tweak em to turn 10k rpms.

If ya want to put your life on the line every time ya run it ,,, Ok , buy the over powered cat!! If ya want to go fast cheap and still have room to go faster, buy the 30 foot superboat or a 30 foot phantom ,,, boat will get ya there and be very safe doing it !! Just a opinion :drink:

RHC, sscchhhhhhhh I have a 2000 30' Specrte w/300's here as well and mine is 69k.........I hear what you said about life on the line, but it appears he has the luxury of running on calm water when "he wants" a big difference from where we do/did most of our boating. On another note ,how the heck are you? I understand all was well at the Leopa run last weekend. Take care and stay in touch. Marc

I'd look at some insurance quotes before pulling the trigger. 100mph makes alot of folks squeamish- especially without a solid ownership track record.

Its not gonna happen, unless you find some really old/beat boat with a big engine, and thousands of dollars that you need to spend to repair it As others have said, there are lots of Cats with twin 200-225's that will do it with ease. At least 3 or 4 in the Skater listing here on OSO. |
