Could have done without the love scenes and the J-FOX Thrusting ! but then again I'm just not a fan of love scenes unless it's porn ;)

But the action sequences and visual cinematography are phenomenal.
+ As much as it wasn't the series turned into a movie, if you payed attention and knew the series, Mann throws plenty of nostalgia in there.

Hey its not old CASH, it's aged ! kinda like wine or Scotch...Uhhh Scotch !

Just saw the movie and it was better than I expected, and of course, more boats would have been better. I have to say though, Colon F. sucks as an actor !

OK-------Went to see the movie last night. Yes, we were disappointed like everyone else with the boating scenes. But thought the movie was OK. Our boat did make the cut. The 2 boats running and get blown up with the Quad Mercury Outboards were my apache and another apache. I had been told that they were going to make it look like they were running outboards. We also saw our boat at the very end in a still shot scene. From a boating standpoint I guess we are all disappointed, but from a non boater aspect, the movie is OK. If I had to do this all over again it was not worth it. Hours were spent having to detail our boat once we got it back. Plus we lost 2 months of boating weather in Wisconsin. Yes we were paid but in the end---totally not worth it.

I am truly sorry for the guys who put their boats into it, kept their mouths shut, only to be disappointed in the end. The films I have been involved in are the opposite...sheer delight at the finished product by everyone involved!

I have already sent my message off to a film producer I know. Several others will be next in line. Should be doable.

Heck, if "Clerks" and "Blair Witch Project" can be made for peanuts and were great films, there is NO reason a proper offshore movie can't be made within a small budget.

The problem with Hollywood is the HUGE salaries paid up front. I hope to do this flick on a share of profits (if any) spread around to participants. Heck, the wife and I BOTH did seperate films and did great jobs, no multi million up front fees were paid to us. WTF!

Bottom line: if the film is great, the actors/actresses do not have to be known by the public. If the fim is so so, a great actor can draw the public in to see his/her performance, hence the up front fee is worth it.

Solution: make a great film at low cost!

I just saw it, and liked it. I can see now that A LOT of people on OSO didn't really watch the original Miami Vice as much as they say they did. There were things throughout the entire movie that reminded me of the show. There were also plenty of boat scenes, just not the entire movie. The original show wasn't all about boats either. I hope it does well enough to make a sequel.
