Sea Tow vs. Tow Boat US -which is better?

Last year I got a BoatUS (Tow Boat US) membership and it is coming up for renewal. It's cheap piece of mind, but when I try and do a compare & contrast against Sea Tow, I'm not really seeing any compelling reasons to switch.

I think I'm seeing Sea Tow makes you name a home port, and the coverage gets fuzzy if you breakdown away from that area.

Tow Boat US covers you 25 miles in either direction of any location and 50 miles offshore, but if you need to be towed into a another Tow Boat US "area" they cover the first $2,500 and then you are on the hook.

Does anyone have any experience with either they can share?

Boat/US covers you in your buddie's boat, rental boat, etc.....no Home port issue.....Barkley

I would say join whoever has a bigger fleet in your area/ more coverage.

Sea Tow has always saved my rear end in a time of need. They were there in five minutes on 4th of July weekend when my Bravo exploded.. That is service at its best!!!!

I switched to boat us this year cause they screwed my buddy,this is what happened,we were at democrat on a sunday called them about 530 pm they told my buddy to untie and drift,the tide was goin out!!!! real smart!! i hooked him up and started to to backto babylon,they said they would pick him up in a little while???? we expected to see them shortly,as we towed around captree,no ctow,i kept goin.I think he called them as we were IDLEING thru captree,i think they said they were comin,yea sure,i got all the way to the lindenhurst cut,no c tow!!! as we pulled into BERGEN point there they were heading out maybe to get us!!! this is about 2 hrs later!!!! nice evening for us wasn't it??? needless to say i wen't to US tow cause of that!!! tripps
