I had an 86 260 Stinger w/ small block 350's and I had to have glass work done every fall. At each side in the center of the boat just above the rub rail it would crack. Maybe my glass guy wasn't good but it cracked year after year.

I've spent some time on an Eagle and they are rock-solid in any water. Not the fastest boats but they're very stable. What power is in the Eagle you're looking at?

The Stingers have been known to split at the keel. This can cause a VERY bad day. A member of my club had a 39 open up at 30 MPH in 3 footers-it was not the conditions-it just split open. Thank God (or whoever, Cat)that all the life jackets washed out of the cabin because the boat sank in 30 feet of water in about a minute.

Then his insurance company wouldn't pay for the hull since they said it was a defect and thus not covered. :(

i've done some work on a few stingers, started calling them chriscracks. . .(no offense you chris guys) . . the excal however is a pretty solid boat,i always thought they had a great cockpit layout and classic looks.and of course its a good rough water boat, but its also one of those boats that thats not a very fast hull.with a pair of 500's you might see upper 50's lower 60's throw in a pair of hp 1000's an ya might see 65 :D . . just not a fast hull but a wonderful boat none the less.i always had a soft spot for em

the cabins are HUGE in them. If they were updated they would make a nice floating poon place.
