Post SVL 30' Phantom - Why so many for sale?

In the back of PBM there are 5 of these for sale- ex-race boats. What changed in the class and why are there so many for sale? They have SM3, 5, and bravo drives.

APBA has changed the class rules a few times recently, and I'm guessing the guys are tired of starting new motor/drive programs...

Again..just a guess...

Ding, ding, ding....

We have a winner in Bodyshot1.

After spending $20,000+ in one year to conform to the "new" motor specs, the rules changed again.

I agree with SVL66. I just got my APBA motor performing correctly, then what do you know, another major rules change. I guess we are past that point now though. I am re-rigging and changing my drive to compete in the new spec engine class. It's only $, right? Fury#88

To Cobra Marty One of the main reason is They can't beat the 29 Extreme AKA-{Stainless Marine}For the last 3 year. It has ruled A Class,But I think like all the racer to many changes in last few years .Too many $ spent to keep up with the rule changes,But It will make the sport better, with the new SVL1-SVL2 Classes.

Thumbs down

I just remembered another reason why. This past year there was so much whining and *****ing going on. The only team to get DQ'ed didn't stop whining until they got their points back. It was pitiful.

For some reason, I just remembered that-

As painful as it is,it is still the right move for APBA.I will make a prediction that it will be the class of the future for the serious racer. It will be more competative, safer and affordable.I hope to be in one by 2003 maybe sooner.I would like to see at least 10 boats at a race.I hope that it doesnt delute the factory-1 class.

If you think it will be the class of the future, why don't you buy those 5 Phantoms?
Should make a great investment. I bet each one had at least 100k just to get competitive
