I think you're right on that. Nothing that money couldn't fix ? The race boat would get you lots of looks from its paint job and it would be a shame to change it. I wouldn't, but could never afford to operate, fuel, oil, INSURANCE, etc... Now the white Scarab belonging to paul, fuel, oil and possiblby not the super high dollar insurance.

A whole lot of boat for 28K. How about the raised deck and port holes? I like the lines of the flat decks. But it would be a nice one for that money.

I don't have any right now. The boat is in getting the new motors. I'll snap some soon. We're supposed to go run it in a few weeks when the motors are done.

Easy to make comments about the Scarab hull until you run one. The straight hull make great wave crushers and the stepped hull fly more level than just about any other stock boat on the water (True!) The downside is in the finishing work and resale. Spider cracks in the gel and every year the prices dump further. Fountains, Cigarettes, Outerlimits and Formula all level off after 6-7 years, but Scarabs keep dropping. I cant find any ryme or reason to it. After that amount of time most boats are on a first or secound re-rig and have very little original parts.

It seems that way from what i see in the classifeds. I would say that the old kaama's and flat decks hold better value and also the Larry Smith's......the 38's have some great lines and are great wave crushers for the buck....
