They both top out at the same speed!

You're absolutely right.

The dramatic reduction in weight coupled with the multi-step bottom has given today's offshore boats a substantial increase in big-water handling ability. As a result, the long-distance races that once had to be postponed when the water got into the 8'+ range can now be run regardless of water condition. 20 years ago, no one could have dreamed that the Miami to Bimini and back run could have been done in under an hour.....

P.S. Enjoy your giant ski boat.

Yup, The Firewater Fountain in Pt. Pleasant about 5 years ago comes to mind. There was another one in the same race, don't remember the name.

The hull spilt down the side just behind the engine compartment bulkhead and it was brand new!

I ran with a potato chip in some rough water this weekend...same old story, couldn't hang when its real water.

I had not seen that before. Thanks for posting. That was some of the best footage I have seen. If it had been any other boat in that trip at the end, including many build to todays standards; they would have been dead.

It was yesterday on Lake Michigan and the " potato chips" don't even come out to run. Just sit at the dock talking about how fast they are. NK

As soon as I see video of " other" boats doing this on a 30 mile stretch of ocean (30 miles according to T2X ) then you can compare....

There are a few clean 41s running out of Anchor Marina in North East MD a few times a month, what rock solid classic rides .
Thanks for the video that was excellent .

The Cat Killer would break up long before that old dog. Just like it did in the NC Race this week end.
