A 60' Paul Mann custom sportfish went down at the White Marlin Open in NJ. The cause is unknown but all were rescued by competitors with no injuries.

Bummer for that guy. Looks like it went down slow and level. Kind of odd...

How far out were they? Are they all too proud to hook up a line and start dragging that thing into shore? I would think as avvid fishermen; they knew of a place that is 5-6' deep and they could have dragged it there and anchored it.

I think they were like 50 miles offshore. Your not gonna tow a sinking boat that far. :(

Completely understandable as those boats are designed for such, but don't they know where the shallow spots are? I know they are supposed to be professionals; but I'd think they would put some effort into it unless the owner just didn't care.

Ouch! Glad everyone made it off ok.

And not like you can just go to your local dealer and buy a new one tomorrow to replace it...

There are no shallow spots in the open Atlantic and just think about the extra weight of the water. Thats no joke I wouldn't offer my boat for that tow. As long as the crew is safe who really cares about the boat. In situations like this the saving of lives is the only thing that matters.

Lifes are way more important then saving a boat that is doomed by the deep anyways! PLus that is what insurace is for!
