demo ride on a 28 eliminator
 

well i saw a 28 Eliminator Daytona at the Houston boat show that i really liked from Bullock Marine in Seabrook Tx.well i gave the man my card and talked to him for a while at the show last week,yesterday the phone rings it Bruce Bullock,setting up some demo rides for today on lake conroe,i'm in on that,get to the lake today with 2 friends
and we were first up,this boat was a 2002 with 496's the 375 version,this boat is bad
to the bone,with 4 people,gear and both tanks
at a little more than3/4full we hit 86.7 mph

on my Magellan gps315,the water was smooth,so in bigger water and 2 people with 1/4 tank of fuel i bet this boat would hit a easy 88 or 89 mph ,this boat is all the speed i need,for now {hello whipple}well the other boat i'm thinking about is a Baja 29 outlaw i will be going for a demo soon,both boats are real close in price,so which one would you buy 2002 outlaw 29 with 496's{375hp} or the 2002 Eliminator 28 with 496"s?
how about resale value on both of these boats 3 or 4 years from now? sorry about the long post here.thanks for any input.Mark

H2X, My buddy is selling a 29 Outlaw with twin Hp 500's, Latham steering, K tabs the works for in the 70's. The boat is a 99 and really clean. The boat runs 80's.

I'm a BAJA BROTHER to, I love my OUTLAW but I would buy the ELIMENATOR, I'll probably buy a 25 DAYTONA or a HTN 24SS next year

Just depends on what you like. We ran a 25 outlaw last year and are stepping up to the new 28' Magic Cat. Cats and Vs are totally diffent animals in ride. Cats are kinda nice because they are a lot wider in the cockpit then the v bottoms. But then again, I was raised on Bajas. It would be a tough decision.

that boat is for sale listed at 149900.00 he say's he has 200000.00 in it. it is a mean machine :eek:

I would buy neither one. For the kind of money you are spending, you could get one hell of a lot nicer, bigger, and faster boat if you got something a couple years older. Also when you consider the cat, figure on paying 2-3 times as much for insurance.

H2Xmark, I will make you a screaming deal on that 28 Daytona in HotBoat. it takes alot more then HP to make a fast safe boat. My boat has all the stuff that you would find on a race boat. The $$$ add up but you can't skimp (SP) on safety. Also take a look at the custom interior.

CatmanDo, Since we replaced all of the top end of the 6.2's it would not help to have paid for the Scorpion's, They both have the same bottom end.

The 28 Daytona is one of the best riding cat's that I have ever been in. It is worth every penny.

You should ask the $600K boats what it felt like to have a $150K boat next to them in a Poker Run.

I have a better deal for you. I had a 29 and its not long enough for rough water. I am selling my 36 Baja Outlaw SST. I purchased it new April 2000. It has Merc extended warranties thru 2004, $9000 worth of custom audio, brand new condition, and includes trailer for $107,000. If anyone is interested call (813)882-8477.

I took a ride in a 28 daytona about 3 years ago. First question I asked is "What no standup boster? Answer was don't need them. On the day we took our ride at Ocean Conroe it was rough & boat ran good. After you ride in Cat & go back to your Baja you will be ready to change to a cat. I took my old baja out about month ago & I was ready to go back to the trailer after getting bounced around just after getting on lake.

I do not know about the resale value. When I get around & sell this boat it will be about 10-14 years old if I do like I have done with my other boats.
