We use sulfamic acid to clean grout off tile. You can buy it in a powdered form at HD for about five or six bucks. I haven't tried it on the boat, but I bet it would work as well as muriatic. I know for a fact that prolonged exposure to even the fumes from muriatic acid will tarnish stainless steel. Another tile guy found out the hard way, when he had to hire a company to come in and grind all the tarnished SS table legs in a McDonald's kitchen. I had a couple guys that I was sort of subbing a part of a job to. Those idiots used muriatic to clean the grout in the restrooms, which had brass fixtures. Just the fumes from that cost me a bundle. The only time I use it nowdays is when we are doing pavers outside, which, just by chance my boys happened to be doing today in Jax. Hot as hell!

I agree. I have used Lime Away for years and it works great and has not caused and problems with the finish or scratches, etc. :drink: Although it does cause burns to the skin and the occasional passing out from all the toxic fumes....kidding

The question was "What works...?". I answered it, and issued the appropriate caveats, warnings and precautions. Use whatever you want - I will too.

The lake that I go to has alot of particals in the water and if it drys, CLR won't hardly touch it and requires a lot of elbow grease. I have tried most of the stuff you have, and it just does work that great with the water we deal with. I haven't tried BioKleen Hull cleaner. Muriatic acid just seems to harsh. PS; Don't use Muratic on your cement driveway, or you will be sorry.

Most of us at the lake use this stuff and it works better that I can even tell you about. Our hulls will turn yellow over time and I have spent countless hours with a buffer on previous boats. Spray this on, and and the yellow is gone, the white buildup on the prop and out drive literally runs off. Absolutely NO scrubbing. I bought Ringo from an OSO member a couple of years ago and it works great also.
Kem-tech won't sell Safe AR Hull Cleaner to individuals, but call them and they will tell you who is a local dealer. I have bought some of this from Scheels sports before.
The marine version isn't on their web site also, and they say it is a different blend. Hope this helps.

The best is Sno-bowl for cleaning, then wipe down with CRC.
