Re: Seahawks Boats from the 80s
I owned the 28' Seahawk "Seahawk" P-68 triple ob(2.4) raceboat in 82, 83, 84. Sold her to Larry Womack of Houston. The boat just reappeared on ebay about a week ago. Mike Guard was the GM back in the day. I also worked in the plant while attending my first 2 years of college.
Pictured is Sal's 31'.

Re: Seahawks Boats from the 80s
The seahawks... 28, 31 and 38(not the 26 which was acutally built by Lionel Martinez of Lionmar boats on contract) we derived from the 28' Signature... the major difference being that the chine exteneded past the side of the boat requiring a complex 2 piece mold for the hull, similar to molds used to produce sailboats.

I just purchased a 1985 28ft Seahawk project boat. It is just the bare hull, throttles, steering and trailer. It is set up to run 2 outboards. Found this thread while searching for info about this boat and seahawks in gerneral. Dont know much about it. I will post pics later.

Seahawk molds were aquired by a company named Blackhawk Boats here in Miami, right down the street from Concept, about 5 years ago. They built a few boats over a three year period and closed shop about two years ago.
They were using good hardware on the builds with some trick paint jobs but the molds were in lousy condition, sides were wavy, strakes and bottom wavy and no step bottom. They were selling them cheap but a new boat looked like it was fifteen years old looking down the sides. I think the lack of quality was their downfall.
Just as a sidenote, at the same time, a few doors down the Scorpion molds sat. They were trying to ressurect the Scorpion and were building a couple of boats but went out pretty fast.

I dont have a clue which boat it is. Believe it or not, I got it off of craigslist. It was setting in a field across from a housing addition in Oklahoma City. Bought it from a guy named Tony Mansfield.

There is a guy that is wanting to buy my seahawk (pics on earlier posting) for $5000. Given its history, and its condition of course, do any of you guys think this is a good price. I paid $1000 for it but me nor the guy I bought it from knew anything about it. What do you guys think?
