Default What boat would suit my location?

New to the forum and gotta say this place is great!

I live right on the DE river and boat through the C&D Canal down to the Chesapeake. Right now I have a '89 21' Citation Lazer that I have restored or fixed up whatever you prefer. I love its handling and speed but I can not take waves/large wake at cruising speed (rougly 35mph). I always have to slow down, loose plane, take the wave while giving a little gas then get back on plane, its a PITA. I would like something that I can jump through the wake/waves without worrying about breaking someones back or the boat. I was thinking 25'-30' on a budget of 50k or less. Also, since I figured I would be going bigger I midas well go faster, so something say in the high 70's.

Thanks for any input I really appreciate it.

Do you want I/Os, single twin... or outboards?
Do you want a sitdown boat or standup?

I/O, prefer single but twin will work. Stand-up.

A 31' Cigarette Bullet

25' or 29' Baja Outlaw

27' 29' or 311 Formula

All great boats and readily avalaible on the used boat market and in your $$ range

do you need a boat that is family freindly, buzzing w/ friends, or for running solo and maybe taking 1 or 2 w/ you.

there are some nice older sutphens that'd do the trick.
there's a 28 pantera 3man bolster raceboat.
I think cowisl's 28 twin ob powerplay would be great. but you said i/o.
There is a real nice 28 apache right in PA.
An older 28 cig would be nice too, and there is one coming up for sale... saw it in the cig forum.
There is a 29 kryptonite, but sit down, up in NY.
There was a 28 single Saber in MI, but its not in the classys anymore.

Well... there are some of my picks.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I knew i came to the right place! Looking for a boat that would hold about 6 people. I like the baja's but they are a dime a dozen around here and I wouldn't mind having something different. i like the Fountains, Apache's, and Cigaretes but hardly know anything about them. Time to start researching! So you think something around 28' will be able to jump waves with ease?

Thanks again!
