Michigan City Storm last night?

Any news? I heard the storm really picked up steam as it crossed lake Mich. then slammed head on into Mich. City! I wonder what those waves were topping out at?

I heard that quite a few boats were damaged at the marina. Wind and hail.

I have a buddy that lives in town and he said power got knocked out , and some pretty good size hail had fallen. I plan on going over tomarrow and checking the boat show and hand out some fliers.

Well the storm hit MC hard last night. My dads boat was not on the list of the damaged boats at the MC Port Authority. According to them, there was 4" of hail on the ground and many boats at the boat show recieved damage. A pier totally broke loose at the show as well, it was the sail boat pier. Couldn't of happened to a nicer group of boaters . My dad is going to go to the marina tonight to inspect the damage. I think his old lead sled will be just fine! I post a update when we see what happen tonight.

I was on the Lake that night in Chicago. Waves were 6-8ft. I had my excalibur Hawk and my buddy had his scarab III. We left out of diversey harbor to go for a run. As soon as we turned out of the harbor entrance(which is blinded by he break wall,) we were in for a rude awakening. Wow! I was drenched from head to toe immediatly. We ran around for a few miles in that crap. My old Hawk held up well, but the scarab had some stuff break. Some cabin parts of his came apart, and his gauge panel broke loose. It was th first time I was ever nevous on the water. The waves settled a bit on the way in, but there were some good rollers out there.
