This info shows these filters have a bypass valve built in,is this so if the filter clogs it will still bypass the oil?I am having my bypass in the block removed so this I think would be a good thing. How does the HP1 or wix equivalent compare to the HP6 or HP5 and their equivalents? Is it just thread size or flow or just more numbers to confuse me

They are making the A/C Delco PF1218 a shorter filter now,so if you want the old PF 1218 you had better stock up on them now because the short ones are already replacing the old ones.

I use the big k& N-it does have a bypass valve,my motor does not have one BUT because of its shear size and internal surface area I don't expect the bypass to ever open,Smitty
