I will be spending a couple of weeks in September working in Manteo. Just wondering if anyone was around the islands that wanted to gather for drinks and food...

I was just there last week. I didn't see one performance boat all week in the OBX area.

The Outer Banks are all about sportfishing. You wont see any performance boats at all. The fishing is excellent if your into that.

My sister works in Manteo for Dare County. I can vouch for the no performance boats. They consider performance boats useless. When I took my 38 out to Hatteras they all looked at it and said how do you fish out of that? I told them you don't. So they looked at me and said well then what would you want one for? I have alot of relatives out there and no one is into the performance thing on the water. They are into dirt track racing.

I have been around the sportfish boats...I may do some wreck diving from the shore. Just wondering if anyon was out that way...
