Anyone ever parted out a boat, or traded for something else??
 

How do you know what things are worth? Two freshly rebuilt 454's 430HP (one by JC Perf, one by Bandit), TRS Drives, BW Trannies, and K Planes. Then what do you do with the shell, especially if it is not on a trailer? My other option I was thinking was trading for something else. Where would you advertise to trade something? Maybe OSO could put a "trade" section in the classifieds. The "swap shop" is just another classified section...correct? Basically I tried selling and a 20K boat only got 11K on ebay and I've had no luck in the classifieds, so I'm considering other options. Has anyone else parted out an older boat and had luck? Do you get your money back or just take a major loss.

Parting out is like a point of no return, look in the parts sections and see what people are asking, I would think somebody would want that boat for 15. What happen to the Scarab?

Thats what I'm afraid of. The parts are good, but would anyone want them is the question. The scarab is still for sale...I use it once in a while when its too rough for a cat and I need to crush some waves.
