Just tell the guy.....The boat is what I've been looking for but I just can't spend $xxx on one. Hope you find someone willing to pay $xxx for it but I'm going to be in $zzz range. If you decide to come down quite a bit please let me know. Be prepared to walk away...whoever calls the other first, LOSES!

I used to buy and re-sell express cruisers, this was my approach. I got some and lost others but if someone is willing to consider the range your in they'll speak up.

No, Just sold a Formula 312 for over 50K. My Formula 382 showed up 6 weeks ago so I was a little eager to make a deal happen!

better off offending him in the offer. i'm sure that hurts less than slamming his boat in a public forum. So from what i can tell you are doing him justice.

i know your right. i just dont want either of us to be the "loser". It shouldnt have to be that way. Ive bought and sold 4 boats in 6 years. all went smooth because they were priced right when i bought them and i priced them fair when i sold them. still took a small hit on a couple but thats the price you pay to enjoy them.

It needs to be a realistic offer...

Or you can tell him to keep your number and call you when he deciedes he can't sell it at the higher price.
