The 8-213 Dexter hub is a very popular hub.
It uses the following: 25520 Timken Inner Cone (Bearing) 25580 Timken Inner Cup (Race) LM67048 Timken Outer Cone LM67010 Timken Inner Race 370219A National Intragal Oil Seal If you do not want to run an intragal oil seal you can run a standard C/R # 22532 or #22558 and run the seal lip directly on the spindle. |

that metal ring is the gard to keep grit and debris from getting to the seal. it should come right off. The replacement seal if same type will some with that gaurd. Its a real pain to install corectly without the proper tools. It must be set to an exact depth and perfectly square or will leak. I am betting if you took it off a regular seal will go on the axle. Yes, you have done this before! |

Done it way to many times and most will not listen about instalation.

Glad to be of service Eric.
I'm converting all my axles to the new style that Myco is running with the steel sleeve on the spindle ( like in the first picture I posted). You will have to call Tim at Myco to get the sleeves. Be sure and use some "BLUE" Loctite on the inside of the sleeve to secure it to the spindle. Ask him for the new style rubber seals that go in the cap so you can pressurize your hub. That will keep any water out. Get all you part numbers and keep them written down in your truck or tow vehicle. Carry SPARE parts, and all the necessary tools. Good luck buddy and don't stress out! Hope that thumb is feeling better. |
