He has just over the last few years risen to a speed level where he now can only compete against his own products. |

His factory is impressive to say the least. Who else has that type of high performance factory on the water? His sales are what really impresses me. I'm not crazy about the boats but Reggie is KING!

Fountain Powerboat FY06 Net Rose Sharply On Tax Benefit
DOW JONES NEWSWIRES September 20, 2006 10:23 a.m. DOW JONES NEWSWIRES Fountain Powerboat Industries Inc.'s (FPB) fiscal 2006 earnings rose sharply as a result of a $1.28 million deferred tax benefit. The Washington, N.C., company said Wednesday net income increased to $2.4 million, or 49 cents a share, from $756,212, or 15 cents a share, a year earlier. Excluding the tax benefit reserved in 2002, the boat maker earned $1.12 million, or 23 cents a share, for the latest fiscal year ended June 30. Put the Koolaid glasses down and back away from the Fountain shrine in your living rooms. $1.12 Million total margin on sales in excess of $70 million is not exactly putting fear into Warren Buffett's heart. As far as "nobody" "accomplishing" what his Reggieness has done in the "history of performance boating" blah, blah, blah. May I humbly offer a counter point? Carl Kiekhaefer........... without whom Mr. Fountain would still be selling Life Insurance.... T2x |

Always insightful comments. How's the wing coming. My family had a 17' Switzer back in the 70's with a "Tower of Power". When it got rough, we always put the Checkmates on the trailer. We had a blast with that boat. How about some pictures of the wing. |
