Mike 1) After riding in the 700 39'er, I'm ready to move into a 95 MPH + boat 2) I can't get comfortable spending the $$$$ for a new 39 700 boat knowing I'm going to take a big depreciation hit shortly afterwards. I bought my current TG at a decent price and shouldn't get killed in selling it --- and am looking to do the same thing w/ another. The problem is.... I know what I want (45 Max), but can't find one... and just don't know "exactly" what else I'd want. So, I'm snooping around until I get clear. Joe |

Don't have the 1050's, but 510 c.i. Merlin block N/A Sterlings dynoed @ 645 H.P.
Lost a distributor gear and cam at about 40 hours. $3500 repair bill. Even new, port motor always had a lot of oil out breathers and oil began superheating. Needed rings replaced with less than 120 hours. Over $7300 repair bill, not even a full fresh rebuild. Engine was in shop over 8 months. Despite that, I need to pull motor out again to fix an oil leak. Starboard motor is puking oil out breathers and now needs fresh rings too. Engine shop manager and lead field tech have left Sterling. I have always been a good customer and strong supporter. I am not one to spread negative comments, but I was not at all pleased with my recent experience there. :( |
