engine question

What do you think of a 665 cu.in.NA bbc single carb, hyd. roller cam poker run engine that makes around a 1000 hp @ 5700 rpm on pump gas with a 1 year warranty? Would there be a market for something like this?

It would probably have a predetermined number of hours.

Pump gas like 87 or 93, most pumps on the water are 87-89 octane.

Would standard accesories bolt up ie p/s pump, alt, off the self manifolds (imcos) or would you need custom made headers.

What heads? they would have to be large enough to support that kind of air flow to make 1000hp.

What deck height on the blocks. would they bolt in where 454's/502's came out.

What kind of upgrades on the drives would be required?

Would maintence items be readily available, plugs, ignition parts, filters or would they all be custom made.

Sorry for all the ??'s

And how much $$$

James

I think the market would depend on the price and reputation of the builder to stand behind the engine.

I second this question.

1.5hp per cid by 5700rpm naturally aspirated is no easy feat for any engine, especially without major compression.

Almost forgot - Yes, I'm sure there would be a market. There are a lot of 'depends' though, that haven't been mentioned.

efi-89 octane.....carb.91 octane

all acc. will bolt on....you can use imcos but this will hurt power over stainless tube headers.

heads are custom big chief castings

depends on where drive centerlines are. block height is 10.650

speedmaster #6 or arnesons' to be safe.....people have used others....your disgression.

all readily available parts, nothing custom.

upper 40's with upgrades available...aluminum block, titanium connecting rods etc.
