Re: 42 Fountain vs. 382 Formula vs. 36 Baja
You will not be disappointed in the Fountain. I think the staggered engines will give you better handling over the other 2 and the resale will be better than the Baja and about the same as the Formula. I was not trying to bash the Baja in my earlier post. I looked at a lot of Bajas before I bought my Fountain and the build quality was not there in my opinion. Also, Baja does not race. No R&D in extreme environments. That is a big deal to me. I won't even by car unless they have a factory sponsored race team. Also, on my lake I have ran with several newer, bigger powered Bajas and left them behind when the water go sloppy. They were probably more comfortable but I was faster. One last thing, you don't see a lot of Baja's at the front of the line at Poker Runs. With the same power, the Fountain is going to be the most efficient hull of the 4.
Just my biased opinion again.

Sydwayz, Thanks but I'm totally unfamiliar with AT and don't think I've ever seen one in the flesh.
Have been in the 42 Fountain, 38 Scarab, and 36 Baja but not the 382. The Fountain was the fastest but the Scarab landed a little better like they have been saying.
By U there is a free party at Marine Max Seabrook Sat night 6-9PM with food! New boats too.

You NEED to see the 38 Formula cabin and a 37 Active Thunder before you decide.....these are my 2 favorite boats!!!
Been in the
Fountain (rode OK, fast),
Cig (awesome ride, I need a cabin though),
Baja (on trailer, was OK),
38 scarab (at the dock....didn't like layout.)

There are and have been several ATs in Texas for the past several years.
I did not know anything about them either. Then I got curious; and now I own one.
You start with a blank sheet of paper, rather than build sheet. Totally custom. AT is a small builder, but order numbers are already going to double production next year, and things are still growing. Again, I'm not going to overly push AT, but they are worth getting to know.
This one might be in TX soon:

This one is brand new; OSO member is buying a 43AT:

And the two 2004 37s for sale in the OSO Classifieds are both incredible boats.
Again, best of luck.
