I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank the following for their support in helping one of my dreams and others come true by bringing live closed circuit TV to the internet, inside HOOTERS Casino Hotel and to the Dry pits.

I would like to thank Steve Schuble and Mike Emdy from OSO for flying out and installing all of the equipment at HOOTERS Casino Hotel in order to make it possible for you to watch the broadcast live on your PC.

We had twenty live TVs showing Offshore racing. Dave Scott told me that JT’s wife was watching him race live from the Casino and was on the edge of her seat for the entire race. J

The question that everybody is asking is “Are you going to do this for the Worlds?” The answer is “Yes!” Lake Mead was a beta test to work out the bugs. Since Lake Mead was our first effort, we expect the World’s coverage will be even better. Stay tuned.

Kevin did an excellent job putting this entire thing together.

Some of you have asked us how we were able to broadcast the race live on the internet. Please see the link below to the "behind the scenes" video and audio that is quite interesting.

AMF productions delivered a feed to the Hooters Hotel and Casino 45 minutes away from the Race site which was converted and uploaded to the internet from the Hotel. The same feed was also shown on the televisions in the Casion as well as on a Jumbotron at the Race site itself.

An excellent job by Martin Sanborn and Charlie Haimes of www.talkoffshore.com and of course AMF Productions for the video end.

Hopefully we will be re-broadcasting the actual race footage that we have shortly.

Glad it all worked out at the races!

A few or constructive suggestions........promote the events WAY SOONER!!!! When you promoted the Rum Run......there was no exposure until a week or two before and the local SCOPE club was not tapped. This time, there was barely any exposure again! Besides the date change, I heard that BobT was giving SCOPE a bad rap for not helping to provide patrol boats. Well.....if our membership doesn't know of an event or a need for patrol boats a week or two before.......FYI.....its not going to happen! People make "plans" you know!

Anyway, congrats on the on-lake "offshore" race event. Damn cool......

Thanks all for allowing us to help out despite the last minute notice. Mimi and I had a great time and will definitely be available for next year! Unfortunately being a rescue/ picket boat kept us from seeing the cool jumbotron, but being able to be close to the course made up for it :-)

Kevin, send us a pm and we will help in the organizing next year as I will likely be retired then....

I couldn't agree more with the comments above. Special thanks to all involved. I believe everyone will benefit from coverage like this. And, after watching a rerun of the first race with John Haggin, I don't think anyone can say that Offshore racing isn't "deck to deck" action anymore!
