Okay guys lets get the story straight.
Yes the boat came off the trailer.
No it didn't flip.
It did travel bout 80-90 feet from the intersection and another vehicle did get hit by the boat.

AND it wasn't a wheel bearing it was a flat tire !!

You bring a truck to a sudden stop with a 10,000 lb boat sitting on wet bunks and see if it doesn't break free from the trailer. The driver and his passenger are lucky (if you can even say that) that they are alive.

Sorry for the lady that lost her life, but it sure sounds like it could have been a lot worse. Glad on one else died.

Be careful out there guys.

Very sad story

I am with Ian when he pulls our boat all over and it is not an easy task, it takes lots of concentration and stoping on a dime is not something you want to have to do. We have rolled under a lot of changing yellow lights to
avoid having to brake to fast. I would assume that there would be a reason if he did not stop, almost everyone I know that pulls a big boat is more careful than the drivers surrounding them in their cars.

Is the guy with a cig a member here

He is a lurker...he loves this sight and alway talks about how much knowledge he gets from it and how much he has learned from this sight and learned about his cig. I am truely wish him the best, he is a really nice guy and was so happy to be out boating one last day.

Prayers to all involved.

Here is a link to the story in today's local paper. Not much more than what already has been said.

Hey you quoted me out of text. I would like to make it clear that I did not believe or assume anything. I just quoted what the locals were whispering at the water cooler and how a story can change so quick when it becomes he said they said.

We hope the best for all involved.

I wasn't sayin anything bad bout your quote, I was merely puttin the correct info out there to conflict with what the rumors are. They make it seem so cut and dry in the paper "truck runs stop sign" He tried to stop, (yes a little too late) but had there not been the extra weight behind him he may have stopped in time. The reports don't say that though. They write it up as some guy drivin around stupid.
