2008 Round Britain Offshore Powerboat Race
Round Britain Offshore Powerboat Race 2008.
We are looking for some of you guys to come over and join us in this huge challenge which will be the Greatest Offshore Powerboat Race for many years.
Ten legs back to back over twelve days with two lay days up in the north of Scotland. You would be powering through some nice days and some not so nice days, seas can be up to 20/30ft off Lands End with some of the legs over 200 miles long. The event is 1600 miles of good old fashioned Offshore Endurance racing and not for the feint hearted.
It will be only the third time in British Offshore Powerboat History that this race has ever been run. The last two were 1969 and 1984 so it’s about time it is run again.
We expect up to and over fifty powerboats to take part from Italy, Austria, Scandinavia, the Middle East and the USA as they did in 1984 which will be some spectacle.
This race is for monohulls only and is subject to us finding the appropriate sponsor.
The Round Britain Offshore Powerboat Race 2008 will take place off of Cowes on the Isle of Wight on the 21st June 2008. Cowes has been the start of so many Cowes-Torquay-Cowes races over the years with many Americans having raced there.
Are you up for the challenge? Join us in this huge adventure and be a part of Offshore History.
