We ran over a submerged pipe line when we were forced towards the shoreline during a Poker Run.

There were like 140 boats going through a 1/4 mile wide channel. Not a lot of room and we got squeezed towards the shoreline when a boat was passing/running with us.

Tore BOTH drives off, just an Oh S....

Hooked to the left AFTER the other boat got off the top of our Stb deck. Amazingly just a white line on the deck from that.

The life jackets are "Mustang Survival" and yes they automatically inflate when they get wet. Saved my life as I relied on it to get me to the top. One cannot swim in them very well but you will not sink with all the flotation they have.

No real damage to the hull other than where the tow boat rubbed the rear deck and no we did not run over anyone.

Rik,

Was it a dredge pipeline? If so, they owe you new outdrives at a minimum. You shouldn't even need your lawyer for this.

Is that because of the low water levels in CA ? Sorry to hear that love your boat.

There where a few boats that ran over each other. Like Rik said, it is a narrow section and NO room to move with 140+ boats. It looked like Talladega when this happened. It was a VERY ugly scene and no one is to blame. It's just what you would expect to have happen when you get than many boats moving at speed in narrows.

Phill, nobody got a DWB at 10am. I don't know how that rumor got started but it didn't happen on this poker run.

Fiberglass can be fixed or replaced, fresh water pumps out of motors. This could have been much worse. If you put it all in perspective it is a testimony to all the drivers involve (and those not involved) for not killing anyone.

Phil, a Skater ran over a Jaguar. Another Skater ran over a Spector. A few other boats bumped pretty hard including a DCB which took a fatal (to the boat) hit. Don't remember the whole linup but I think everyone has worked it out between themselves.

A submerged pipe line near that canebrake? That's a dirty trick.

No, it was b/c at high tide you cannot see it. It is a horizontal support for a vertical pipe that is used to tie barges to the Sheriff said. Some might be used to CLEAR FL water, but the CA DELTA is MUD BROWN so there is no visual depth, just brown water.
