LOTO Accident

I apologize if this has already been posted. Hitting a sandbar at LOTO has never crossed my mind. :(

I wonder if he was wearing a lanyard attached to the kill switch? Boat looks like a Scarab P29. Was a nice boat. :(

there are some low water points referred to as sand bars, ( i don't think there is anything sandy about them ) they are marked with bouys and that is what he hit, cool boat that was the special edition deal with small blocks and blackhawk drives,

Just a guess, but any chance this happened near the Lodge of the 4 seasons. There's an island and underwater rocks there that not much can get over when the water's down.

LAKE OF THE OZARKS - A Stillwell, Kan., man remains in serious condition following an accident near the 11-mile marker.

According to the Missouri Water Patrol, David Hersh, 51, was taken to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment after the Wellcraft runabout he was driving hit a shallow sandbar. The impact allegedly threw Hersh around in the boat, causing him to lose consciousness.

The boat continued to travel, making a U-turn and running across a walkway. The boat ran under another walkway and came to rest when it struck a seawall. There were no passengers listed onboard the boat, according to the Water Patrol accident report.

The accident was reported shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday.

Witnesses said they saw the bright yellow and red speedboat pass them near the 10-mile marker. About 10 minutes later, they passed by the accident and saw the bow of the boat wedged up under the walkway against the seawall.

The Water Patrol and Lake Ozark Fire Protection District responded to the accident.
thats strange. im at the 10 mm and am not aware of any low spots unless he was very close to shore. :(

There is another low spot that runs straight out from shore 150-200feet at the 11mm on the opposite side of the lake from 4 seasons. It is marked with bouys, but they are easy to miss if you don't know they are there. With dropping water levels, it could be only a foot or 2 deep there.

Griff, that was the one, kind of by bikini pier,

Another accident today, i forget what mile marker, but was supposedly one of those fast pontoons two people got chucked off, only one made it to shore, currently looking for the other. Sad sad times around the lake this year, lots of deaths, some just unfortunate accidents others clearly could have been avoided, I feel for all their families and think about mine everytime I vest up.
