B- 28

Read the article about the resurrection of the B-28 up in British Columbia last night in the new Powerboat. Interesting boat with interesting power. Certainly a "unique" offering. Was going to pull up the website but cant remember the name of the new company. Any help with the name?? Opinions of the boat/power combo?

The 28 bat boat or V280 Type R as it is now known is made by vector powerboats. It looks like a sweet ride and it moves out with the Ilmor 625 pushing it to 90 mph. I think that it's running a Teague Platinum Bravo XR on a standoff box. Here's the website:

there is some grey area as to weather the wings offer an aerodynamic lift. if so that steps outside the SVL class rules. SVL is one of my all time favorite classes and i know this question has been asked before. i would like to see it but im not sure it will ever happen. the 28 is an amazing boat to say the least.

ya get one of these :D and legend has it that it was one ill handel'in mo-fo :D

although i think this may have been a different running surface than the platform that is under the current B-28 so there may still be hope. :D :drink:

i've always thought the 28 would make a great canopied boat. there a blast to drive, very addicting to anyone that has had one.

anybody knowwhat is the reality of docking, tying off, etc with both the odd shape of the hull and the wings, wrap around windshield and no rub rail??

are the wings sturdy?

if you jump in the water, im guessing you need to climb up the outdrive?

stupid questions, but just looking for some insight.
