That's good news Jon.

I've had two pair of Maui Jim's and prefer the black lenses to the brown lenses. The brown just don't cut the brightness of the sun, but work well in haze.

The typhoon style did a great job of cutting the light, but I broke them. Sent in to the factory (in Peoria, Ill, oddly enough) and they were backordered on that style, and could not repair them. Sent me a catalog and told me to choose ANY model I wanted, even the most expensive one.

Yes, they are expensive, but that's great service.

Good Luck with your eyes.

What were you diagnosed with? Two years ago, I was diagnosed with optic neuritis, which is a swelling of the mylen around the optic nerve. The doc scared me when he said it is often a precursor to MS  It has gotten better over the past two years, the only time I can tell it is there is when I get overheatd.

Glad you are on the way back, it is scary thinking you may go blind.

I have been having vision problems (blurred vission, unequal pupils some times) for over a year now. It all started one night when I had extreme pressure in my head similar to a migraine but without the pain. The doctors have not been able to diagnose me with anything so far. I was checked for everything including optic nueritis. What were you symptoms?

Again thanks to everyone.

HavasuCat I do have a hydrosyphalic shunt. It drains fluid from my head to my stomch. My first thought was that I was having trouble with that. When that screwes up or breaks I will get double vision and painfull headachs so bad that I pass out. Thankfully that has only happend once to date. The eyes I was having my periferal vision was blurry and my eyes just over them were very sore. It was not comfortable to look at and still is not anything bright.

Great to hear Jon.... realize that you are only a stone's throw away from the best Medical Specialists in the country. One good thing about being clost to Bawston. --- John

Wow, sounds like it is very uncomfortable. I am glad to hear you are getting better, I don't think my problems are the same. Dealing with all the different doctors can be a pain in the ass, they all have there own opinions as to what is wrong. I guess when they say they are "practicing" medicine they really mean it. Thanks for the answer.
