That ain't no chit. The new one is a monster, but I think it does a couple of things the smaller one doesn't.

Monster as in bigger hole in the dash, or monster as in bigger face? I'm doing a stereo upgrade this winter and have an extra gauge hole for a remote.

Bigger size all together
Yes that's the new remote.

Might look into these if the display is not required or availible on your head unit (uni link capability) http://www.access-tech.net/productsRemoteCom.htm

Joey, the remote does not mount like a gauge, but you could adapt it to fit over a gauge hole.

It mounts via two studs, and a larger hole for the cable. The bezel shows what your holes would look like:

You could use a small scrap of lexan or plastic to make it work.

Clarion has/had a remote that mounted in a 2.25 gauge hole, I think; but of course it only works with the Clarion systems.

The smaller one like Sydwayz's is still available in black @ $129. More than likely old stock since white was more popular. It's 3 3/8 od, plus flatter.
