Jacksonville is one of the best places to boat in Florida. As said above, Daytona or St. Augustine for lunch is not far and you have the river which is very wide and veru deep. We've gone two years in a row to the JFFPR and will be there this year.

I didn't know the river is fresh water?

I just moved from the north florida area to SC about 1 year ago. I severely regret it. I absolutely LOVE the boating in and around Jacksonville. there is no doubt in my mind that I will move back the first chance I get.

In this thread someone mentioned a performance boat club in the Jacksonville area. Would like to find more information on it if anyone would post. Will be moving to Green Cove Springs (Fleming Island) in June on the river.
