We had 2 blue tops in our 35 Fountain. I think the way the boat was wired (house power from on battery, trim and tabs on the other) continually crippled the one battery after only a short period of time. Fought with it for about 2 months trying to get it to take/hold a charge. Was informed about the specific way to "bring it back to life" and that didn't work. Even took it to an Interstate Battery rep and let them fool with it, to see if it would charge. They warranty replaced it. When I got the new one, I gave that one away and replaced both with plain old lead acid batteries. I took the other one to Autozone to "dispose" of it, or whatever they wanted to do with it. Only time in 14 years of boating that I had battery troubles at the launch ramp ... never again!

I have some friends who swear by the Odyssey batteries but I have not found any battery boxes made for them. Also my Hustler has a C Charles and you better watch the water on them it will loose water pretty quick. |

The 21-v bottom I purchased in 2004 came with a single Optima yellow top battery... I charge it in the winter and have had no problems whatsoever. It takes a beating. That being said, I've heard of the quality issues in recent years so when it does finally crap out I will likely replace it with an AGM battery.

I have a Kinetik battery in my boat. It's a AGM battery as well, so far so good. It's pushing 2 500w amps for hours with no problem. This battery was designed for stereo competition, however I don't see why it won't work in the boat. http://www.kinetikaudio.com/intro.htm

I replaced my Optimas with Oddessy batteries. They also have battery boxes. The Optimas left me stranded at the launch ramp in Lousiana. I have two purple Optima boxes some one can have.

I bought 2 Optima blue tops, and I have replaced 2 of them in the last 2 years. They are JUNK! Over $500, and I have been stranded at the dock more than once.
