Reggie just talked about cats at the Chicago Party. In short, he wants all his customers to come home alive after a day of boating. Too many "what if's".

I'm thinkin a 46 Skater is gonna be about the best ya could do in the rough.

Anything with a lot of freeboard might be nice too....lika a Black Thunder, Hustler Fiore 40.

The 50ft. cougars of the 1980's come to mind-George Morales Mercruiser Special.

The catamarans seem to "get on top of the water", and the air pack has to help cushion the impact. But sometimes the sponsons don't land at the same time causing sponson hook. Maybe the asymetrical thrust of only one prop in the water contributes/detracts to the hook.

In the rougher offshore races(are they offshore any more?)-key west comes to mind- the large catamarans (Nuff Respect, Alcone) ran away from the vee's if my memory is correct.

are we talking rough water or lumpy water..if it gets real rough like 10~12 footers..I will take the vee, more room in the cabin to party tied up to the dock :drink:
