Dkerns, I checked with that surveyors web site and looked like it would cost me about $375 to have it done. Seems a little steep? I suppose it's worth it though.

well, $375 now seems better than $3750 later... after you find out the transom is rotted.

How would you be able to tell if it was rotted?

The surveyor will use a moisture meter to check and see if there is water in the transom and other areas.

Has anyone used Cpt. Joseph Curry for a survey in the San Antonio area?

It is relatively easy to replace the floor if it has gotten a little soft isn't it? I wouldn't think it would cost that much either?

Gripperone, I would call him and get an exact quote. He may be able to do better than that. I believe he charged me around $400.00. The reason I was so pleased with him, he asked me what I was looking for in a boat. He used that info to determine that the boat just wasn't what I was looking for.(The problems he found). He called me 30-40 minutes into the survey, gave me a heads up and the option for him to stop and refund most of my money. I don't know if they all do that or not?!?!

I'm not sure what I'm going to do now. The guy won't budge on the price, wouldn't even split the survey. If he would have moved at all I probably would be an owner right now.
