They aren't big on pavement or bridges and if it rains too much in the mountains just forget about traveling fo a few days. You don't want to go down in the rainy season!

The local food is great as long as you're not squeamish.

The car ferry was a hoopty but it was a great experience. I was a little worried when I saw the spare (and bent to chit) props siting on the deck down by the smoke stack. You also can't see the other two burnt and half sunk ferrys' in the background. They got us across safe and sound and the beer on the boat was cheap.

This is a little and hard to get to place called Pta Islita. Great little spot but I would recommend getting a charter plane or helicopter in. The drive is uhhh.... challenging.

Here is our little place in the hills above Herradura. It's just north of Jaco and allot quieter. Great views and the beach is just down the road along with the largest marina on the west coast.
