Back in the '80s and '90s I was in the boat business. In those days it was common to see the new model years introduced at IMTEC (the trade show in Chicago that Terry Sobo mentioned in his post). However, we dealt with two manufacturers that would stamp the next model year on anything ORDERED after June 15th.

A lot of things have changed since then so who knows what the meathod of the madness is today
