In skid steers its hard to beat New Holland I have a LX865 that is 12 years old and going strong. In larger equipment all Cat with the exception of a JD 700j dozer and two Link Belt long reaches. We have never worried much about resell because we run equipment forever. Terex motor scrapers used to be big in the US market but because of lack of dealers pushing them they have since faded. Cat is top in track loaders and motor scrapers. Komatsu, John Deere, and Hitachi are strong in excavators but I still prefer Cat. I have a 330c, 2-345's, and and old 225 that still runs every day. All of these companies have strong markets and have excellent job opportunities in sales and service.
