Re: John Deere
New Holland built the skid steers for JD for years , now JD is building their on brand. Bob Cat and New Holland rule the skid steer market but JD does have market share on the bigger equipment. I'm partial because my family owns one of the largest NH dealerships in the country.

Re: John Deere
I spent about two yrs at waterloo works Tractor Assembly Division. I worked as a contract engineer designing/installing new assembly lines for what was at the time called the "MR" tractor. It was a great job with great people. Best in my 20 years as an engineer, but I was on contract so that may have affected my experience. I didn't have to take any chit.
I also grew up in Waterloo. People that work at John Deere were very well paid and top caliber. I would not hesitate to be an employee of JD waterloo works.
I also spent 8 yrs at Federal Mogul and can honestly say I would take the ag industry any day over automotive.

Re: John Deere
Hmmm, I'd say ag is the place to be. Ethanol is about to pop and so is farm equipment. Real estate on the other hand, cycling down.

We sell 80% construction , I guess it depends on where you live. We have a huge construction boom going on in North Georgia. Everytime a hurricane hits we sell so many skid steers w/ grapple forks it would blow your mind. Demolition is also a big business.
