"shorter " stainless steel cup holder?

I replaced the the cheapie plastic cup holders a s boredom project last weekend and I discover the two most forward cup holders are shorter, they have to be short because the bottom hits the interior hull surface . I have seen lots of folks selling SS cup holders (Fred and others) , but never have seen short ones. Do they exists?

I am running into the same problem on my Formula. I need one "shorter". If anyone knows, please chime in...

I don't know of any "shorties". We run into this problem often on Formula.

Maybe check with Majicfloat on how to get some SS short cup holders from Formula (if the exist).

Not sure how it would look, but you could try painting the plastic ones with 'chrome' spray paint!?!?!?!

Just A Thought.. Would It Be Possible To Raise Them With A Sleeve .. Maybe Some Sort Of Plastic Pipe Covered With Material Which Would Match The Upholstery...

Tough to do, but instead of raising them with a sleeve, or big spacer, get your new ones, and cut them down. Figure out a way to put in a new bottom, whether you reuse the original bottom, or use something else. Really, not many people will see the bottom of your cup holders, but they will see that nice anodized rim and first few inches of the inside that will look good in the hole.

I thought about shortening them too, raising them makes the joint visible . I might try to chuck them in lathe and get my welder buddy to weld the bottom on them. He always gets pissed at me for this do it yourself projects though so I would rather buy them if possible.
