Question What's your cruise RPM?
What is your cruise RPM and speed? Currently I have a 21' with a 5.8l and I cruise 30 mph @3000 rpm. I would like my next boat to cruise at 50 mph under 3500 rpm. How much harder is it on the engine to cruise at 4k vs. 3k?

My Black Thunder will crusie @ 47-49 MPH @ 3000 RPM. 52-54 MPH @ 3500 RPM

I like around 3200.3000 is 47 amd 3500 is 63

my 311 seems alot more happy at about 3600-4000 ... seesm thats 50-55 mph ....At 3000 it just seems to be working harder ....

I like to cruise at 3200 45-46 mph 4000 58-59 mph.

old engines.....3200 was 50 GPS. New ones aren't done yet.

3500 rpm = 70 mph. 17 X 31 4 blade prop, 1.33 drive ratio.
