I know it's been talked about before but I have a box anchor and really like it. They also fold up and store in a bag it comes with.

Get one of the 20" x 30" mesh anchor bags from West Marine or Canyon products. You can keep both the anchor and the rode in there without having to wrap everything up in towels or assemble it in a panic. The mesh not only protects thing from getting beat up, but allows to rode to dry. It's also a hand way to schlep the whole shooting match out to the bow and back.

Both are thru-bolted to the forward anchor locker wall and don't move. The anchor rode is also mounted on the wall. We've run in some pretty rough water and never had a problem..

How do these work? Do you have a photo of them mounted?

The box anchors are great. It's just that the boat came with the rubber coated Danforth anchor in the bow so I wanted to use it. Doesn't sound like the best option though, especially in rough water.

Can't do that right now because the boat is shrink wrapped. But, square part of the anchor slides into the groves on the chock and is locked in place by the Chainstop Lock. When it's thru bolted it's almost impossible for the anchor to come loose. It would have to rip the thru-bolted mounts out of the wall for it to come loose.

Thanks, I get it now.

You should get a Fountain. The anchor secures very nicely in the anchor compartment. Blasting through 6 footers at 85 MPH won't knock it loose. Am I right, Downtown Dave???
Keeping the rode dry, that's a whole 'nother thing.
