45' Sonic - Anyone know??

Anyone know this 45 Sonic. Been for sale in TX.

http://www.boattraderonline.com/cadd...0/80741780.htm

I am looking for something with some head room but still trailerable. Is the 45 Sonic's beam 8'6"?

Any opinions on this boat or on older or 45' Sonics is appreciated.

Thank you

Yes, well with a new baby now I need something big enough to comfortably spend the weekend on.

Didn't you just upgrade to that 36? Are you selling to upgrade again already?

I new the two previous owners. What would you like to know?

carrboy 03-05-2007 05:18 PM

My 386 is and the 42 is...just go to the sonic website-they have all the specs,I'm 99% certain the 45's beam is the same

TomT I would appreciate any opinions you have. How does it drive? Was it well cared for? Decent quality? Does it really have the 6' of head room Sonic boasts? I have never been on a Somic 45

I know Sonic's quality through the years has gone up and down. Did they like the boat? Any major issues? I'm sure it is a gas hog. We would spend a lot of time on it but not necessarily driving it.

Carrboy - Thank you. I was hoping 8'6" so no permits required.

One buddy purchased it new or was the second owner. It spent most of its life on Lake Conroe a fresh water lake. I saw it get towed to Tickfaw one year. Its alot of boat for the money. I don't think the previous owners used the boat much.

We never got a permit when we took it out.

43Thunder just bought a 45 Sonic, and he worked on them for years at a dealer. He can share a lot of info.

The beam is 8'6". Its a BIG, and I mean BIG, heavy boat. It rides like a pair of Sherman tanks welded together.

That looks like Roy Hunter's old Sonic...If it is, then it is then i should be good. He keeps everything nice.

Totally different boat The one you are think of is this one; owned by Offshore Score here on OSO:
