Loc-tite works just fine. Stick to the blue stuff.
Just FYI there is a huge difference between the red and blue loc tite.
When blue loctite is used on a fastener the fastener may be "broken free" with hand tools.
You will not be able to break free by hand any fasteners that have the red loctite applied to them. These require heat treatment to break to the fastener free....

Each Loctite product has it's own special use. Blue is medium strength, red is high strength, purple is for small screws, green is super-aggresive, etc. There are also wicking (penetrating), sealing and high-temperature versions. Check their web site for directions, and remember that cleanliness matters.
If you want to "be sure", break out the drill bits and lockwire....
