These are a new hi helix rotors, not impossible but definitely pushing the limits.

Heads are the new Brodix kcpb 1202.

Coolerman 03-19-2007 12:52 PM

How long have they had the hi-helix out?

Lofty 03-19-2007 04:24 PM

Not sure but they sure aren't easy to get.

GATORONE 03-19-2007 04:49 PM

High helix and 12 degree heads aren't worth that much power and a wet sump motor to boot.

how can anyone with a motor over 800hp not put a dry dump system in. I can't believe someone would spend upwards of 60 grand a motor or more and not spend the 4,000 dollars to dry sump them. Not only is it safer for the motor but a good system can yield another 40hp out of the motor. I forgot there is no chrome value in a dry sump system so why bother.

that much hp in a 36 nortech, bad bad decision, not even close to safe, Gatorone pushed the limits with his, better have good life insurance because that hull is not designed for anywhere near that power and in an non canopy boat is suicide.

Hi helix have been around a LONG time, mostly in the drag world. Not very popular in the boating world.
The heads have also been out a couple of yrs. I have wondered how they would do in a blower application. They have great flow numbers, but have a very small small chamber. Thus the high CR, probably 10:1 or more. Big chief head tend to have a much shorter life due to the weight of valves and bad geometry.
It will be real interesting to see how this works. Since Ron builds a very nice engine. But in the past, has stayed with conventional heads.
Do you know what CI. they are? He usually likes 4.75, which I would probably prefer a dry sump with that much windage.
Good luck, and let us know how it comes out. Sarasota would be a nice coming out party.:drink: :drink:
